History

1990Apr Established in Suita, Osaka Prefecture, and started a contract development operation.
1991Aug Started customer specific LSI business.
1995Sep Started MegaChips-brand application specific LSI business.
Oct Started Systems products business.
1996Jan Head office moved to Yodogawa-ku, Osaka.
1998Feb Tokyo sales office, responsible for sales in the eastern area of Japan, opened.
Aug Listed on the Japanese OTC market.
Dec Visual Communication Inc., a joint venture with Mitsui & Co., Ltd., was established in Osaka for sales of systems products.
2000Apr Visual Communication, Inc. was merged with Cameo Interactive, Ltd., to form a new company, Megafusion Corporation.
Dec MegaChips was listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. (TSE: 6875)
2003Oct MegaChips made MegaFusion Corporation, later renamed to MegaChips System Solutions Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary through a share swap.
2004Feb Obtained ISO14001 certification.
Apr After groupwide restructuring, MegaChips Corporation shifted to the holding company, under which two subsidiaries were formed: MegaChips LSI Solutions, Inc. for the LSI business; and MegaChips System Solutions, Inc. for the systems business and audio authoring business.
Audio authoring business was transferred to a newly established subsidiary, Cameo Interactive. Ltd.
Oct MegaChips sold all outstanding shares Cameo Interactive, Ltd. To the e frontier, Inc.
2005May Acquired shares of Shun Yin Investment Ltd.
2006Mar Obtained ISO9001 certification.
2007Apr MegaChips Corporation adapts a resolution to merge its subsidiaries MegaChips LSI Solutions Inc. and MegaChips Systems Solutions Inc.
2012July MegaChips acquired 100% share and made Kawasaki Microelectronics, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary.
2013Apr MegaChips Corporation and Kawasaki Microelectronics, Inc. completed a merger.
Sep MegaChips Taiwan Corporation was established as regional headquarters in East Asia.
2014Nov MegaChips acquired SiTime Corporation and entered into timing device market.
2019Jan MegaChips transferred its System Product Division to Sense Things Japan INC., a consolidated subsidiary of Mamezou Holdings Co., LTD.
Nov SiTime Corporation was listed on the NASDAQ Global Market.
2020Mar MegaChips LSI USA Corporation started a business activity as a sales base of North America.
Jun SiTime reclassified as an equity method subsidiary by MegaChips' partial sale of SiTime's shares.
2021Jun MegaChips LSI USA Corporation invested in an establishment of MegaChips VC USA LLC, Corporate Venture Capital Fund (consolidated subsidiary).
2022Apr MegaChips transitioned to “Prime Market”.

MegaChips LSI USA Corporation invested in an establishment of MegaChips VC2 USA LLC, Corporate Venture Capital Fund (consolidated subsidiary).
2023Jan MegaChips and MegaChips LSI USA Corporation invested in LDVP MCC Co-Investment Fund, L.P. and made it to a consolidated subsidiary.
