MegaChips Corporation was founded in 1990 as a fabless maker of system LSI based on the concept of integrating LSI and systems.
Since its founding, MegaChips has focused its resources on research and development, in areas such as image, audio, and communications. MegaChips has achieved growth as a reliable supplier of LSI for game devices, digital cameras, cellular phones and image monitoring systems for the security monitoring market.
The current unprecedented economic downturn triggered by the financial crisis has brought significant change to many different sectors. The electronics industry in which we operate is also experiencing dramatic change as a result of this recession.
While this change affects many businesses, we see it as significant opportunity for an agile fabless firm that can respond quickly to changing circumstances. To take advantage of this growth opportunity, we are gearing up to provide a full array of solutions, from LSI to systems, in a way that best meets customer needs. To expand our business from the existing areas of game devices, digital appliances and security, we have launched initiatives in the promising areas of the environment and energy.
